Lesson Learned!
In the early 1950's a two year drought appeared. However this time 4 million acres of land was purchased by the government during the dust bowl and was permanemtly restored as national grassland. Farmers made a discovery that water was under the soil. This was considered much more reliable for most farmers because they did not have to wait for rain from the skys' making things much more simple. Farmers would pump the water from the soil and use it to grow their crops.
