In the 1930's better known as "the dirty thirties", the dust bowl effected thousands of farmers and their families in the Southwest/Midwest. The incredible power of dust clouds caused by wind erosion, over farming and the long drought lead to a turning point in the ways of agriculture and the economy . This is important because this event caused families to migrate to other states ( mostly the west) and even led to death and disease.
